Alimentum Hypoallergenic

I wonder why hypoallergenic formulas seem to have more of an adverse affect on my baby than the regular ones?

I thought my baby is allergic to milk, because when I was nursing, I noticed that when I drank milk, he broke out in excema all over his body, and he coughed a lot, the kind of cough you get when you have a tickle in your throat. Now that he's on formula, the poor kid puts holes in his head scratching, he's soooo itchy.
I've tried soy formula, and that made him scream. I tried Alimentum, and when I finally made the full switch (because when you change formulas you do it slowly), his rash got worse. Now I'm trying Nutrimagen and as I increase the amount, he has an increasingly sour stomach, bad indigestion.

Please don't say "go see the doctor". We are going in about 2 hours.
I just wanted to know in the meantime, if any one else has had this particular experience, or does anyone know of some ingredient in the hypoallergenic formulas that is not in Good Start?

you might have to try a rice milk formula you can get those at the health food store.
also give him oatmeal baths for the itching.
I'm so sorry you're having a rough time feeding the little guy. I hope he grows out of it. My littly guy did. We tried goats milk with him and it seemed to be the best.

How long can formula stay in room temp?

Diego almost had to be hospitalized because he is allergic to my breastmilk. We tried everything. I was basically down to eating just fruit and he still was having an allergic reaction to my milk. I am having a very hard time with this but I will always do whats best for my son

Now, he is on hypoallergenic formula (similac alimentum)
He wakes up about 2-3 times during the night when he was breastfeeding. So I have made 3 bottles for the night.

He will only take the formula warm. It takes a long time for it to be warm when taken out of the fridge and I do not want him to get into a scream during the night.

Is it ok that I leave it out in room temperature? (about 72 F to 74 F)

Please no harsh words. I am hoping this formula is only until he is 6 months

It's sad that some of us have to be so careful what we say so we're not judged and what not. Especially those of us who are now using formula... The way I see it, most of us are on here to help and be helpped with parenting.

Anyway... Your formula should tell you on the can how to "handle" it. I think mine, you can only have at room temp for like 4 hours, and in a fridge for up to 24. Can you just heat the water in the microwave or faucet in the night to speed up the heating process? Don't put the bottle itself in the microwave, tho. What I like to do is, I get the bottle out of the fridge and microwave a glass of water until it's boiling... like 2 minutes. Then I stick the bottle in the water and stir it around w/ a spoon. This heats the bottle up very fast. You have to check it frequently tho, or you'll overheat it. Always test a bottle before giving it to your baby. I personally, wouldn't leave the bottles out room temp for that long, especially when your LO is so sensitive to things.
