could carrying a heavy baby cause me to have neck pain and headaches?
i have a 16 month old daughter who is in the 99% for her weight and 95% for her height, she is a big girl, but she is still a baby, so i still need to carry her at times, and she is SO heavy, it bothers my shoulder and neck, and i have had a headache everyday for like 3 weeks straight, it starts in my neck and works its way up, and my neck bothers me allot like needing to be popped etc, do you think carrying my daughter could be causing the headaches?
It's possible. Since you can't really get around carrying her though, I would suggest keeping some Motrin/Advil etc on you if you start to feel pain! Good luck!
How do I know my baby's neck is hurt?
My baby is 11 weeks old and his neck muscle used to be very strong. He could lift up his head upright straight for a few seconds while he was in a sitting position. Or arch his neck while he was on his tummy. But I noticed these two days, his neck muscle seemed to be weaker and couldn't do those movements anymore. I'm afraid maybe he is hurt. I know maybe I am being paranoid, but should I concern about this? What are the symptoms if his neck or backbone is hurt? Pls help!
if your baby was in pain he would be crying but if it doesnt sem to bother him hen i dont thin he has hurt himself. maybe he is going through a lazy phase but try get him to spend as much time on his tummy as possible this willencourage him to start using his neck muscles again. but if there isnt any change in the next few days just have him checked over by your doctor to make sure there re no other causes. my son went the same way but it just turned out he was going through a lazy phase so puting him on his tummy alot encouraged him to lift his head again. dont wory if your baby was in pain you would know, if you ried to turn his head and he becomes hysterical then there is a problem but if not i wouldnt worry : )
