Has anyone had a sonogram & been told that the baby was a boy but actually gave birth to a baby girl?
My husband & I have 2 beautiful boys. We are pregnant with our 3rd baby & are desperately hoping for a baby girl. From the moment I became pregnant, everyone was convinced I was having a girl. Old wives tales, the chinese calendar all pointed to a girl. I just had my 18 week sonogram & was told it was a boy. I am still holding out hope that the sonogram is wrong. Has anyone had a sonogram done & been told it was a baby boy but actually gave birth to a baby girl?
I was actually told my son was a girl at the first scan. I just knew in my heart that they were wrong, but my husband convinced me "ultrasound has come a long way...blah blah..." Well, at thirty-two weeks they did another scan to check my fluid levels and make sure "she" was growing properly (because of some experiences with faulty pregnancy...not because they thought she might be a boy) and we found out then that we weren't having a girl at all. We saw his little weewee upclose and center and I said "if my daughter has THAT, then we may have a problem!" We chuckled and were happy, of course, but it was a pain redecorating and swapping out all the girlies for boyish items.
So, yes. It can happen, and it has.
What determines whether you give birth to a girl or boy?
I've heard this many of times that if the male that impregnated you has "strong sperm" you recieve a boy. And otherwise for the girl. If not, or if so please explain.
I had three boys before getting pregnant with my girl... I used to tease and say that having boys just meant his sperm wasn't strong enough to "shoot the balls off" lol!
But really, they say it's easier to get pregnant with a boy than a girl. I don't know for sure, I just know I got 3 boys and 1 girl, so I guess for me, at least, it's true.
