My baby Oscar has a wound on his head?
One of the ceramic logs in his tank had broken and I forgot it was broken when I put it in there. The edge is really sharp too. I guess he swam into it twice last night. He has two wounds on his head now. They are not like really really bad but I am concerned. Would they heal like normal or do I need to tend to it?
Will it heal alright or will it scar??
What you can do is make sure your water quality is good (No ammonia, no nitrites and under 20ppm of nitrates). Also, if you use Stress Coat, Stress Coat Plus or Prime, add an extra dose since it helps with slime coat which can promote healing.
If they grow larger, this may be a sign of HLLE (Head and Lateral Line Erosion) and you will need to change up your feeding regimen with a wide variety of foods.
EDIT: It may scar depending on how deep the wound is, but since it's on the fish's head the would couldn't have been that deep or the Oscar probably would have been dead or damaged it's brain.
I think with proper tank care, the fish will heal and there probably won't be any scars.
i have a baby pueblan milk snake with every thing and a 100watt ceramic heat emitters?
k well the guy at the pet shop told me that the 100watt ceramic heat emitters is perfect for my baby pueblan milk snake but my other friend david told me that the ceramic heat emitters is to much heat for the snake and at the moment i am low on cash so i thought what if i use one of those heat blankets you get for your bed as a heating pad would it work? pls be honest
Yes, thats a huge heater for a tiny snake that doesn't require a lot of heat. You can either buy a thermostat for the ceramic and buy a much smaller one when you have more money, or Try selling the ceramic on ebay or whatever and pick up an undertank heater (heat mat). I would go with that because snakes dont generally bask and will use a heat mat better. You MUST use these with a thermostat, this is what could happen to your snake if you dont get one:
