Maxi-Cosi Convertible Car Seat.....what ve u heard of it?????

plz,see the website i have here and so do u know anything ab this brand????? any good??? it DOES have 4 reclinging positions. wow,i must say!!!!

Maxi-Cosi is just yet another name that Dorel calls their products. Dorel makes seats under Dorel, Cosco, Safety1st, Eddie Bauer, and Maxi-Cosi. Go here: http://www.djgusa.com/ and look at the bottom of the screen and you'll see the many names they use on their products, like they're trying to hide or something, perhaps? The only seat by them I'd consider is a Cosco Scenera.

Its an ok seat, but for the price it is totally not worth it b/c it only goes to 40lbs. For the same price or cheaper you can get an Evenflo Triumph Advance with 17" top slots (just like Britax Marathon) and 50lbs weight limit. The Evenflo Triumph Advance (not the original Triumph, make sure it says Advance) is a great seat. $150 version at Babies R Us has padding similar to Britax seats, top slots of 17", harnesses to 35lbs rear facing, and 50lbs forward facing. $120 Walmart version just has little less plush padding. Wide open belt path, easy to install, though it doesn't have built in lockoffs. The harness adjusts at the front of the car seat, you don't have to take the car seat out of the car just to raise/lower the straps. It's one of only 2 seats that does this (The Britax Boulevard is the other, I believE), and it has infinite harness adjustment so the harness always fits perfectly until its outgrown. No more tugging straps to tighten them either. You tighten and loosen the harness using knobs on the side of the seat. As a major bonus, it can be used in a recline position even in forward facing mode. Awesome for kids who still sleep in the car. I LOVE THIS SEAT! LOL My son, who is too big for every other car seat at Walmart has the same amount of room in this as the Britax Marathon.

What to do...Maxi-Cosi vs. Britax for toddler car seats??

We're needing to move on up to a toddler seat, as our lil girl is growing up! *sniff. We have a PT Cruiser and don't want to have a big and bulky car seat BUT of course she MUST be SAFE. The Britax line seems to be really big vs the Maxi-Cosi Priori seems a bit smaller & sleeker. Has anyone tried either? Has anyone been having issues with non-utility sized vehicles as far as finding car seats that aren't too big?? Would love some suggestions and direction for less cumbersome BUT just as SAFE seats. Would also prefer the less foo-foo-flowery-kiddy fabrics as our interior is black leather. Besides...we aren't a very foo-foo-flowery-kiddy kind of fam. lol. Not too concerned with the $$. Just want it to fit our lil lady and our car correctly.

I drive a Mini and I won't put anything but Britax in it.

Go to Toys R Us or any store that sells the seats you're interested in, and they will let you try the display models in your car in the parking lot. This way, you can see how they fit before you buy them.
