What color is your baby's winter suit ?
I have a one-year old girl. I was given a never-been-worn snow suit from a friend who's daughter is larger than average (she got it as a gift from relatives far away).
It is red and navy blue. There are some (discreet) flowers embroidered on the back, but I feel it looks like a boy suit. I would never have chosen it. I am deliberating going out and getting another one...
My husband thinks I'm crazy since I got it for free, but I feel that since people judge a baby's sex by their clothes, I don't want to spend every shopping trip going ''No, it's a GIRL''. What would you do ?
Ethan's mom; Lucky you ! I spend every trip out fending off the hoards of strangers !!! LOL She is very sociable and smiles and goes bye-bye to everyone, so they take it as an invitation to come over and offer up free parenting advice. *sigh* It's been that way since she was born. Maybe I just look too friendly, IDK...
I have to agree with your husband. Im the mom of a little girl as well and I have a 5 yr old boy and she's uses lots of things that were her brother's that I consider unisex like snow suits, boots,etc.
I honestly dont care what other people think-really. In my case I have perfectly good condition snowsuits-gently used by my son, that Im not wasting because of what others might think. You can buy her a girly coloured hat and the same with the boots. My little girl's snowsuit is navy blue and the jacket is blue and red-it was her brother's but it's a Columbia snowsuit so Im not wasting it.
Underneath she's wearing girly clothes and girly sweater, and she's happy with that.
Because your child is a girl doesnt mean she HAS to wear pink every day of her life when she has a perfectly good snowsuit. As she gets older you wont be able to get away with that, trust me I have 7 yr old stepdaughter and she calls the shots in re to clothing.
I would spend that money in something your daughter DOES need.
