What are all the things we'll need if we're going to have a baby?
Well, I'm not the one who's pregnant - my sister is. She's 23. I'm doing my best to help plan out everything the baby will need; so we can get it all ahead of time. I'm pretty sure I have everything, but if I'm missing something please tell me! Here's what I have so far:
Car seat
Stroller
Crib
Mobile
Bottles/Formula/Bottle Sterilizer
Pacifiers
Blankets/Sheets/Knitted blanket/Receiving blankets, etc.
Baby Bath/Shampoo/Towels/Washcloths/Comb
Diapers/Ointment/Powder/Wipes/Changing Pad
Stuffed animals/Rattles/Baby books
Bouncy seat
Clothes/Pajamas/Booties
Bassinet
Playpen/playmat
"Wedge"
Bibs/Burp cloths
Diaper bag
Carrier

Possibly a Rocking Chair.

Highchair, thermometer, baby book, syringe for mucus, baby on board sign, the scrren for the car window, that cover thingy for the shopping cart
Babies...sleeping and diaper changing?
This is a two part question:
1. What is the 2008 word on using powder when changing a diaper? Should I use it or not? Is Desitin necessary every time I change? Or if he's got a healthy bum, just clean and put on a new diaper?
2. In the beginning, when the baby is sleeping in my room in the bassinet...do I change him every time he wakes up to feed? I read that so many women breastfeed right there in the bed then put the baby back. Wear does the diaper changing come into play?

To keep the skin healthy, change the baby each feeding. You and the baby will be happier than if you let him get diaper rash. With our 3 kids, we only used a cream if needed for a rash. Otherwise, just clean and put on a new diaper.
