what else do i need in my baby bag?
Ok so from a previous question about giving birth my baby girl should be here soon i have packed my baby bag... can anyone think of anything else i need?? i have >
Night dress
Socks
Slippers
Lip balm
And things like shampoo makeup hair stuff ETC in my wash bag
I will be taking snacks and drinks too
Camera / charger
Change for the machine for parking
The car seat is in the car
Newborn nappies / nappy sacks
some cream
Vest,sleep suit,socks,scratch mitts and a hat
muslin square
and a swaddling sheet
Clothes for the baby and clothes for me
so thats it anyone else recomend me putting other stuff in?
I packed a labour bag and a baby bag.
In my labour bag I had all the things I would need quickly to hand if onset of labour was quick and/or unexpected:
a button through nightie for easy skin to skin contact (previously they just hoicked up my t shirt and put the baby underneath)
socks.
Toiletries
Disposable pants
Couple of maternity towels
Bath towel in a dark colour, preferably an old one
Hair bobbles
A couple of nappies
A special first babygro
Baby vest
scratch mitts
Blanket or swaddling blanket
Snacks for partner and I
Energy drinks
Camera and charger
Phone
Toothbrush and toothpaste
In the baby bag I had more of the above plus:
Hairdryer
Brush
Lots of extra muslins, babygros and vests (they go through a lot!)
going home outfit for me
shoes
Going home outfit for baby
going home blanket
makeup
wipes
towel for baby
fresh towel for you
toiletries for baby
book/mags
credit card for the TV/phone facility
I did this for my fourth baby in January, so I think I have perfected the art of packing for labour and delivery. Your partner can then take your labour bag home with all the things you no longer need or which need washing. This is also useful because you dont tend to have a lot of room on the ward/room.
I get the impression You Are in the UK so:
I doubt very much that you will have WIFI. Its worth checking but I wouldn't lug a laptop with you. Also there wont be any fridges or microwaves.
The hospital does provide formula and bottles but not nappies or wipes etc.
