Similac Neosure powder HELP?

I have a 28 week old preemie that was disharged on Neosure. The Nicu team sent me home with several bottles of the premade formula. I was reffered to wic and they are giving me the Neosure powder formula. I read on the back of the can that powdered formulas are not meant for infants or preemies and the it's not sterile...Is is safe to feed this to my baby? Any advice regarding this?

Are you sure you read this correctly? I am a dietitian for WIC and a lot of our babies are pre-mature. Ready-to-feed formulas are actually rarely used after discharge and powdered Neosure and Enfacare vouchers are given to clients day after day by request of the NICU doctors and dietitians. It is possible that the disclaimer means powdered formulas are not meant for hospital use (in feeding tubes), but that's just a guess. I would definitely use the powder formula without question. Just make sure the water you're using to mix the formula with is sterile.

how long should my 1month old go without a bowel movement

im giving her breastmilk but as soon as she started Neosure, that's when she started getting constipated. HOW LONG SHOULD I LET HER GO WITHOUT A BOWEL MOVEMENT BEFORE I TAKE HE TO THE DOC?

The actual definition of "constipation" is more then 4 days without a bowel movement and formula fed babies will sometimes go up to a week without.
If you breastfeed more then that should help, but if you can't for some reason then just let her work it out. It's going to be difficult, but that's pretty much all you can do that young.

When my little one was about 2 months she got constipated and on the 5th day I broke off about a fourth of an infant suppository (found in the laxative aisle) for her and that seemed to help. I WOULD NOT do that without checking with a doctor first though.
