Is it safe to put an infant to sleep in play yard?
Our Master bedroom is tight on space, and I know that research has shown that if a baby sleeps in a separate bed in the room with mom and dad, there's a lesser risk of a SIDS related death. Is it safe to use a bassinet-equipped play yard nightly for baby to sleep in for the first few months? Or would a crib in another room be safer?
My son's pack and play (play yard) had an elevated bassinet part and he slept in that next to my bed sometimes. As long as they are on their backs and they are on a firm surface (free of blankets, toys, etc.) I think it's fine.
How can I keep my puppy contained in his play yard? It doesnt have a top so he climbs out w/i seconds.?
My puppy is a 1 lb, 9 week old chihuahua. His play yard is 24" tall and its about 6' x 6'.
i have to keep him in his play yard while Im at work for 6 hours. Its for his own safety. He doesnt "live " in it.
Your puppy may be too much for the playpen. I would be concerned with a pliable top that he might get stuck in. If you can give him a good romp or walk before you leave, chances are that he will spend most of the time snoozing anyway.
You might try placing him in a small room with a babygate (or two in this case, one on top of the other) so he has a view but is still confined.
You might even try a large sized wire crate.
