Do I really need....or can I postpone this?
I really love the Rainforest Melody Sights and Sounds activity mat, but i don't really have to extra money for it. Is it absolutely necessary that I get it...or can it wait a bit.
My baby boy is due April 15th!

wow...I guess this is why email/im/ and general message board are completely taken in teh wrong light. For the few smart asses, no, ofcourse, it's not necessary, i know that....I just wanted to know how important it is. Good Lord.
I got mine but she didn't start using it til 3 months and loved it at 4 months. She loved hers and I loved it as well, it was the only way I was able to take a shower for 10 min. I would definitely buy it again. I also used it for tummy time because it has colors and designs that she loved to look at when she was doing "tummy time" I did use it from the beginning but if you don't have the money right now then you have a couple months to save up but of all the things I bought the Play Mat was used daily!! Maybe try Craigslist, I see people selling some for cheap that are brand new.My daughter still uses the toys. She is 7 months so she rolls everywhere but loves the toys still. Are you having a shower? try putting it on your registry??...I would give you mine but She is still using all the toys

Should I get a bouncer or play gym?
I have limited funds to work with this week so I can only buy one or the other. Both are highly recommended online. Im looking at the fisher price lights and melodies play gym or the rainforest bouncer. I've also been told that a walker might be a better option. He's 6 weeks old so I really want him to have plenty of tummy time. Can I wait until Christmas when he's three months for the bouncer and walker or should I just get the bouncer or walker now?
Well the bouncer was good when my son was little. Until he was about 4 months. Then he just got tired of sitting in one place bc he could roll around. The play mat he LOVES still...and he is 6 months. Right now he uses his saucer a lot..he can jump in it and spin around playing with his toys that are on it. And my mom has a walker for him at her house. She says he likes it.
I would go with a play gym.
