What kind of pacifier is better- silicone or latex?
Recently I introduced the pacifier to my 9 week old daughter. Today while I was browsing the baby section I noticed that NUK, the pacifier brand that my daughter uses has two different choices, Silicone or Latex. My question is: Which is better and why?
I unknowingly got the silicone binky when I first purchased a pack...
Linda R- I sense your frustration and see that You Are AGAINST pacifiers. I do what works for ME and you do what works for you.
Not that you need to know this but before introducting the pacifier my girl was ALWAYS latched on to me. She used my nipple as a paci which allowed b/c I wanted her to establish a good milk supply.
CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!?
The latex ones tend to get gross faster. They get sticky and stick to EVERYTHING! My son originally had those. Now he has the silicone ones. They seem to last longer and stay in better shape longer.
Silicone or Latex nipples for Pacifiers and Bottles?
What is your preference and why?
Would you recommend one over the other?

Silicone all the way for me..and I recommend silicone...for one latex nipples and pacifiers dont last nearly as long, and second there is a growing number of people that have an allergy to latex, my local hospitals dont even have medical equipment with latex in it anymore...So just to be safe in case your child may develop the allergy, go for silicone.
(Also most pediatricians that I have talked to recommend silicone over latex...I believe latex nipples and pacifiers will eventually no longer be used)
