make my own pillow pet?
Pillo pets are awsome, but the two i like everyone has. So i decided to make a ferret pillow pet. I even made blueprints for it. Now i just need the materials. I need the plush in 2 colors(an off white, and black or dark dark brown). and then some chenille in off white. But they r tipically expensive fabrics. Where is the absolute cheapest place to by those fabrics? Which is weird cuz a pillow et is only 20 dollars with same materials.lol.:P but i dont want those so please dont answer saying just by a real one to save money.
The reason that the commercially available pillows are relatively cheap is that 1 - they are made of really cheap materials (I know we have a couple for my grandkids) and 2 - they buy that material in huge quantities - not the little bits (relatively) that you want. If you can find someone to sell you a 'fat quarter' of the fabric - that would suit your needs best - but that will be a tough find. Next - look through the salvage bins at the local fabric shops. On-line is a cheaper source for the materials - but the shipping gets you pretty bad. The best possible option is someplace like Jo-Ann fabrics using their on-line available coupon for 40% off a single cut of fabric. Collect a few coupons - go shopping a couple of times - or get some help to go all at once and you will be able to make this at the least possible cost -- but I can just about guarantee -- it still won't be $20.
