Blanket Plush

Do you have a special stuffed animal or blanket?

I have a special stuffed animal. It's a panda plush and i call him Roka. Do you have one? How long has it been since you had it and when did you get it? I'm 11 and got him yesterday but i cherish him and take him everywhere (literally) Don't be shy, i'm sure we all have something special ^ ^

I have a pink bunny. I have had her since I was three. I got her for Easter 1970 and we have never been apart! I stopped carrying her around when I was about 14 but she is always on my dresser and I sleep with her still when my husband is away.

Which of these blankets should I get?

This is for everyday use on my bed... *i know nothing about quality* i need something that will last me YEARS not months, which is why I am going to something more expensive after buying so many blankets in two years, stupid walmart.

I'm getting sick of being disappointed and spending more money in the long run, so my goal is to INVEST in something high quality that will last.

Or do you see a bedding set on there i should be looking at instead? Please tell me, I'm apparentally really bad at deciding things for myself.

The first one will last forever, but may be uncomfortable directly on your skin. Acrylic can be very itchy, especially if you have skin conditions like eczema. It also does not breathe, meaning that you would probably wake up sweaty in the summer.

The second one is dry clean only and vulnerable to moth damage, but will be very soft. It also should breathe well, as it's made of natural materials. If you keep it away from moths and have it dry cleaned, it should last years, but not forever.

The third one is also vulnerable to moth damage, and probably should be dry cleaned or hand washed, even though it says washable. It may be uncomfortable on your skin, as well (the "wash-ability" comes from acrylic). It would probably last longer than the second, but not as long as the first.

The Italian part doesn't matter. If you look, the second one is also made in Italy, and the first is made in Germany.

Personally, I wouldn't chose any of these blankets, but out of these three, I'd go with the second one. The first blanket is way too expensive for what you get, and the third has the drawbacks of the other two, but costs more money.

The O- Wool Organic Wool Blanket

Pros: It's made of Merino wool, which is extremely soft. Wool is also naturally resistant to dust mites. Organic wool also is nearly hypoallergenic, as the problems that most people have with wool come from the chemicals used to process it. Also, unlike many organic products, it comes in colors.

Cons: Washing will be difficult. I would personally hand wash it (although it says it can be machine washed, I wouldn't recommend it). It also cannot be placed in the dryer, and will take awhile to dry on the line, which means I will have a blanket hanging up in my house, blocking off the room for a day or two. This blanket will also be vulnerable to moth damage.

The Under the Nile Organic Cotton Blanket

Pros: It is a plush, 100% cotton blanket, which is very soft and extremely difficult to find. It is machine washable and dryable. It will not be vulnerable to moth damage.

Cons: It only comes in one color, natural, which is an off-white. It is not a particularly heavy blanket, so it will probably not be enough in winter. It also will not last forever. It should last years, but eventually the blanket will become very thin.

I know the organic thing can be controversial, and it may not be something that you're into. For me, at least, the issue with organic bedding is not that it was grown without pesticides, but that it is not treated with chemicals. Most conventional bedding is treated with chemicals that make it easier to wash, less wrinkly, etc, but also make it less soft.
