Question about tummy time for my 5 week old?
My son is 5 weeks old and I know I need to give him tummy time to help develop his motor skills, like holding his head up. My question is- how many times a day should I do this and for how long?
You Are supposed to do 10-15 minutes per day, in a couple of short sessions. Exactly how long or how many times isn't that impt as long as they are getting a chance to strenghten those neck muscles! Many babies don't like it much so it turns into many very short sessions. It often helps to have tummy-to-tummy with you time, or to prop their arms over a rolled blanket.
